BELLEVUE, Wash., June 26 (UPI) -- Components for night vision goggles that are being supplied to the U.S. Army have been ordered from eMagin Corp. by ITT Exelis.

A Washington state company, eMagin said the subcontract received is for initial production volumes of the display beam combiner assembly for Spiral Enhanced Night Vision Goggles. Included will be eMagin's OLED-XL full-color microdisplays.

"This is an important award for eMagin as it proves the value of the low-power, high-contrast and wide-temperature operational advantages of our active-matrix OLED technology for the U.S. Army's night vision initiatives," said Andrew Sculley, president and chief executive officer of eMagin.

"We are pleased to be able to help reduce the power requirements for the SENVG with low-power, high-contrast OLED microdisplays."

The potential value of the subcontract from ITT Exelis is $3.6 million. eMagin said its delivery of the components will begin the middle of this year.
