MCLEAN, Va., June 21 (UPI) -- SAIC is providing U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center -- Space Logistics Directorate with consolidated logistics management support.

The single-award task order is for seven months and features two option years. Its value if all options are exercised is about $36.

Under the contract, Science Applications International Corp.'s services will include initial engineering technical analysis; project planning; project budgeting analysis; and coordination support required to evaluate sustainment issues.

Other services in support of the Air Force's Space Command will include logistics support analysis and immediate technical assistance when needed for space weapon system programs such as the space-based infrared system, military satellite communications and meteorological satellite program, SAIC said.

"We look forward to continuing to provide the AFSPC with consolidated logistics management support to sustain operational national security space systems," said John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

SAIC said the work will mainly be performed in Colorado Springs.
