
ROME, June 18 (UPI) -- Selex Galileo of Italy announced the receipt of more than $30 million in contracts for its electro-optic and land-based acoustic systems.
To be provided to unidentified domestic and international customers are thermal imaging and EO viewing systems for both land-based and airborne applications; Selex Galileo's Tilde family long-wave thermal imaging camera as well as hand-held multifunction thermal imaging cameras in both long and medium waves for land use; and airborne applications, the Erica Plus medium-wave camera.
"Selex Galileo is one of only a few companies that can provide EO technologies for applications on land, sea and in the air," said Mauro Gori, senior vice president of Electro-Optics, land and naval, at Selex Galileo. "Because we manufacture the whole product, from individual IR detectors right up to complex EO systems, we can provide an unrivalled level of flexibility to customers.
"These numerous successes in international markets are extremely encouraging."
Selex Galileo also announced awards worth about $17.6 million from Italian and international customers for its Hostile Artillery Location systems.
