MONTREAL, June 13 (UPI) -- CAE of Canada is developing fixed-wing training devices and is continuing in-service support for Canada's CF-18 fleet.
The work comes under recent military contracts with a combined value of nearly $107 million.
"The defense forces of more than 50 nations already use CAE as their training solutions provider and our customer base continues to grow as defense forces expand their use of synthetic training in order to reduce cost," said Gene Colabatistto, CAE's Group President for Military Products, Training and Services.
"CAE's advanced simulation solutions offer the ability to practice and rehearse dangerous mission scenarios safely."
Under one award the company will develop and supply an unidentified customer with a suite of fixed-wing Advanced Jet Trainer aircraft simulators and training devices.
CAE said it will supply full-mission simulators that will feature a replica of the aircraft's surrounded by an 11-foot front projection dome display. Integrated procedures trainers, an egress training device, an ejection seat training device, and a range of brief/debrief systems will also be provided.
Continued servicing of Canada's CF-18s for another year is the result of an award from L-3 MAS, a subsidiary of L-3 Communications. In service support will include upgrades of aircraft avionics software, logistics and data management services.
