BANGALORE, India, May 31 (UPI) -- The first EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft equipped with a cockpit subassembly produced in India has been delivered to the U.S. Navy.

The subassembly by Bharat Electronics Limited provides cockpit floodlighting compatible with the aircraft's Night Vision Imaging System.

"BEL continues to demonstrate its capabilities and its position as a valued partner to Boeing," said Dennis Swanson, vice president of International Business Development for Boeing Defense, Space and Security in India.

"BEL's work on P-8I, Super Hornets and Growlers is another example of how Indian companies are becoming a part of the global supply chain while Boeing helps them expand their opportunities across the global aerospace industry."

BEL is a defense electronics company that designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of command, control, communications, computing and intelligence solutions, as well as military communication systems; radars and other systems.

Boeing said BEL's cockpit subassemblies will be installed on F/A-18E/F Super Hornets.

Boeing noted that among BEL products for Boeing aircraft are Identification Friend or Foe interrogators and Data Link II communications systems.
