Dad who drowned sons gets death penalty
HERNDON, Va., May 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Northrop Grumman to support its advanced training of personnel through computer-based modeling and simulation.
The company's work, in support of the Naval Education Training Command, will be provided through a three-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award. The award carries a value of $84 million.
"As one of the leading providers of creative and technology-based training products and services to the military, Northrop Grumman is proud to partner with the Navy as they proceed toward more innovative and technology-based training solutions," said Mike O'Neill, department manager of Navy Training Support for Northrop Grumman's Training Solutions division. "Our passion for education and pioneering approach to training development are critical to providing our sailors with the most effective, affordable and best value training available."
Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will plan and assess training needs and program, develop curriculum and provide the computer-based solutions. It will also provide staff support and program management for the Navy.
Additional details on the training programs were not disclosed.
