SAN DIEGO, May 7 (UPI) -- Training capabilities for the Jordanian military have been enhanced with a U.S.-made mobile combat training center, officials said.

The Cubic Corp., which has now delivered the facility, said its center includes Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapons System units, units for instrumenting of vehicles and trailer-carried exercise control and after-action review centers.

"This is a new capability for the Jordanian Armed Forces," said Mike Collier, a senior program manager with Cubic Defense Applications, which makes the systems. "They have never trained force-on-force with MILES before."

Cubic conducted three-weeks of training to Jordanian military personnel on the use of the system. It will also provide on-site support of the system for a period of two years.

The award for the system came under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program and through the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.

The Cubic Corp. said the value of the contract is $17 million.
