SEATTLE, May 1 (UPI) -- Boeing is acquiring U.S. software company Inmedius, expanding its portfolio of technical services and solutions for aerospace, defense and manufacturing.

Inmedius, which specializes in software applications and services for managing and sharing information and learning, is privately held and the terms of the transaction weren't disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.

Inmedius will be integrated into Boeing's subsidiary, Continental DataGraphics, in support of Boeing's digital airline.

"Inmedius has impressive technical capabilities, backed by an outstanding culture of innovation and entrepreneurial drive to develop the right solutions for its customers," said Continental DataGraphics CDG President and Chie Executive Officer David Malmo.

"CDG has worked with Inmedius for a number of years in the S1000D technical publications standards community. We believe its team and products will be strong complements to our capabilities in technical authoring, eLearning, and software development, which will ultimately drive enhanced solutions for our customers."
