Saab has provided services under the Deployable Tactical Engagement Simulation training system Managed Service program since 2009. Its services involve technical and operational support for troops conducting exercises in Kenya, a former British colony.
"We consider this extended contract to be a symbol of the strong partnership between Saab and the British army and a renewal of our commitment as a highly trusted overall training provider to a first-class military customer," said Henrik Hojer, the managing director of Training and Simulation at Saabs Security and Defense Solutions business area.
"The Saab team in Kenya is well placed to continue to strengthen our position and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with the British army."
Saab said under the original contract, it supported more than 20 British exercises, including in Britain, Afghanistan, Canada and Germany.
It also conducts Collective Counter-IED training under a separate award.
