MCLEAN, Va., April 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. military has given SAIC a $36 million task order for engineering and integration services.

The task order from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic covers a full range of services for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance associated with tactical vehicles.

Specifically to be supported by Science Applications International Corp. are the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and the Joint Program Office for mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles. Work, however, could be performed for other U.S. Department of Defense customers.

"We look forward to providing SSC Atlantic with engineering, integration and logistics expertise that will empower our troops and vehicles in theater with cutting-edge technologies and integration solutions," said Jim Thigpen, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

SAIC added that its work to support MRAP, the MRAP-all terrain vehicle, other tactical wheeled vehicles includes support to keep C4ISR systems components on vehicles operational and ensure training for military units operating the systems and system upgrades.
