FAIRFAX, Va., April 3 (UPI) -- U.S. information technology and analysis company Salient Federal Solutions Inc. has formed a new business unit following acquisition of ATS Corp.
Salient said its Civilian Mission Critical Solutions unit, together with the establishment of its Agile Software Center of Excellence, will bring the expertise it has developed in the defense, homeland, intelligence and cyber domains to the federal civilian market segment.
Salient said it also plans to launch a business unit that will focus on system and software engineering to promote ATSC's expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing and systems integration.
"Salient's acquisition of ATSC is an important waypoint in the company's strategy of very carefully targeting high-growth areas in the public sector market," says Salient Chief Executive Officer Brad Antle.
"It complements Salient's strong position in the defense, homeland, and intelligence sectors with existing business and opportunities in civilian agencies."
The acquisition enables Salient to service a number of additional federal government-wide acquisition contracts, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task orders and multiple award schedules programs.
