Air Force taps CACI for CATS contract

ARLINGTON, Va., April 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has chosen CACI International Inc. to join the roster of prime contractors to support its worldwide medical services.

Under the Consultant, Advisory and Technical Services contract, CACI will compete for task orders in the areas of policy services, engineering, technical services and studies and analysis. Work would include financial analysis, analytics, medical logistics and healthcare administration.

CACI is one of 13 companies given the CATS contract, which features one base performance year and four one-year options. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a ceiling value of $985 million.

"The CATS contract vehicle win demonstrates CACI's depth and breadth of expertise in the growing health and healthcare IT arenas," said Dan Allen, CACI's president of U.S. Operations.

"We look forward to providing a full spectrum of services, from policy to engineering, to meet the needs of the Air Force Medical Service and ensure the best possible care for its patients."

The Air Force Medical Service cares of more than 2.6 million patients annually.
