
ARLINGTON, Va., March 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of the Army's Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center is to receive engineering support from Subsystem Technologies Inc.
The company, which has headquarters in Virginia, said the contract to support the center in New Jersey is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award and carries a value of $49.5 million.
Under the contract, Subsystem Technologies will provide complex engineering services, technical assistance and incidental supplies in support of ARDEC programs.
ARDEC is part of the U.S. Army Materiel Command and specializes in development of weapons and munitions technologies.
"We are thrilled that Subsystems will continue as a vital team member in support of ARDEC's mission," Sam Malhotra, Subsystems' chief executive officer said. "Subsystems has supported ARDEC since 1991 and work on this contract will run through Feb. 28, 2017, if all options are exercised."
Additional contract details were not disclosed.
Subsystems Technologies is a national IT company specializing in enterprise program management, engineering services, information security and emerging information technologies.
