CHINO, Calif., March 27 (UPI) -- Two U.S. companies are integrating security products and IP video platforms for enhanced perimeter security applications.
Optex, Inc. and Milestone Systems said the products, integrated using add-on device packs, will be available this summer.
The product range includes Redscan Laser-Scan Detectors for identifying the size, speed and distance of moving objects; and PIE-1 POE Alarm IP Encoders, which when used with Redwall SIP series detectors and Fiber Defender, converts alarm signals to an IP signal which is then sent to the XProtect video management software.
The Redwall SIP series, Passive Infrared Detectors use synthesized intelligent algorithms for reliable detection. Fiber Defender is a fiber-based intrusion detection system from Optex's Fiber SenSys business.
"Integration of innovative Optex products into the Milestone VMS platform will enable more accurate and reliable video analytics by reducing false alarms," says Ryosuke Miwa, Optex's general manager of global sales and marketing.
"The integration of Redscan area and object data into the Milestone open platform will give unprecedented value to Milestone customers in mission-critical government and commercial applications."
Milestone said its open-platform XProtect Corporate and XProtect Enterprise VMS offerings offer comprehensive capabilities for managing IP video surveillance in medium- and large-scale installations.
"The addition of Optex sensors to XProtect VMS installations will provide our customers with an innovative tool to achieve reliable, sophisticated perimeter detection surveillance," said Martin Friis-Mikkelsen, head of strategic alliances at Milestone Systems.
