TUCSON, March 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Security Service has given Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson its second consecutive superior security rating.

The rating follows a two-week security review at the Missile Systems headquarters.

"Safeguarding of information essential to the protection of warfighters is of utmost concern to RMS employees," said Raytheon Missile Systems President Taylor W. Lawrence. "This superior rating is further validation that our security processes and practices are best-in-class."

A DSS superior rating is given to contractors that have consistently and fully implemented requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, which include procedures heightening employee security awareness and absence of any serious security issues.

"Here at Raytheon Missile Systems, we are constantly finding ways to improve our already superior security practices," said Ken White, director of RMS Global Security Services. "These security programs are part of Raytheon's ongoing commitment to Mission Assurance."

Raytheon said its Tucson facility is the largest of company facilities to receive the rating.
