ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Thales USA is offering a new integrated communications system for U.S. public safety and first-responder organizations.
The Long Term Evolution solution, Thales said, features a push-to-talk smartphone, a comprehensive management system, a broadband network and applications designed to support first responders in the field.
"Thales has invested 10 years of research into the development of a unique, full IP distributed architecture which will provide the added resiliency and reliability necessary to alleviate risks of temporary network shut down," said Allan Cameron, president and chief executive officer of Thales USA Inc.
"We look forward to working with system integrators to help public safety officials accomplish their mission in broadband at a time of critical importance."
Thales said the push-to-talk smartphone for the public safety market allows for interoperability with multiple agencies on the same frequency and features voice, data and video recording and streaming of information so users can rapidly cascade critical information in real-time to deployed teams.
