SINGAPORE, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Short-term intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance service is being offered on a contractual basis by Lockheed Martin, the company announced.
The service uses the company's Dragon series of ISR configurations for airborne or ground ISR mission support.
"Security budgets are decreasing, yet the demand for ISR remains constant," said Jim Quinn, vice president of C4ISR Systems with Lockheed Martin IS&GS-Defense. "With Net Dragon, we're able to provide the ISR capability customers need, without them having to incur the expense of owning the assets."
Lockheed said Dragon sensor systems will be customized to customer requirements and are net-centric capable to enable Joint and Coalition interoperability.
Net Dragon options include Dragon Scout, based on large business jet type platforms; Dragon Shield for multi-mission use and which can be encased into trailer-like containers or onto pallets for roll-on/roll-off use; Dragon Star, for aircraft such as Gulfstream IIIs, Havilland D-8s or Beechcraft 350s; and others.
