Teen solves centuries-old math problem
FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- General Dynamics has joined the roll of companies supporting U.S. Navy medical research through a five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award.
Under the Investigational Research Omnibus award, General Dynamics Information Technology will support research, development and clinical investigation program at Department of Defense medical and dental facilities by providing physicians, scientists, nurses and technical staff.
Strategic analysis and support for grants supporting clinical investigation programs to aid in medical education will also be provided.
"General Dynamics understands the critical challenges and unique characteristics of military medical programs," said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Health and Civilian Solutions division.
"We have a strong background and proven reputation for providing leading IT solutions and healthcare management services to the military medical community, and we will leverage this expertise to support the Navy's research efforts to enhance the medical care and treatment of the nation's military personnel."
The contract for the Naval Medical Logistics Command and U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery is worth as much as $49.9 million to all awardees.
