WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has given Northrop Grumman a five-year repair services contract for avionics equipment outfitted on Prowler jets and Seahawk helicopters.
Covered under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity fixed-price award, are the ASN-150 and ASN-123 tactical navigation and data systems, including Doppler radar. All the systems are aboard both the EA-6B Prowler and SH-60 Seahawk.
Northrop noted that it has provided depot repair services for the two systems since they were deployed in the 1980s.
"Northrop Grumman is proud of our longstanding support of these products, which maintain key customer capabilities," said Gorik Hossepian, vice president of navigation and positioning systems for the company's Navigation Systems Division.
The award is worth $19 million.
Repair activity will be conducted at company facilities in California and Utah.
The EA-6B, an electronic warfare aircraft, is manufactured by Northrop Grumman. The SH-60, which performs a wide range of missions, is a product of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.
