
MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The Kingdom of Jordan has placed a $26.4 million order for Falcon tactical radios with the Harris Corp. of the United States.
The Falcon II and Falcon III systems will be the Jordanian military's core communications system for command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, Harris said.
"Jordan's military will be deploying this C4ISR system as part of a range of security missions," said Brendan O'Connell, president, Department of Defense Business, Harris RF Communications.
"Harris is providing state-of-the-art tactical communications solutions that enable Jordan military personnel to maintain secure communications in the most demanding of environments on the battlefield."
Falcon tactical radios, with are software defined and net-centric, include handheld and manpack variants and well as vehicular models.
The Falcon III is a multi-band, multi-mode unit for line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight voice and data communications.
