ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Communications capabilities of the U.S. Department of Defense and other U.S. agencies are to be improved by CACI International.

CACI, which has headquarters in Virginia, announced it is one of nine companies selected for telecommunications and Information Technology work through the U.S. Government Omnibus Network Enterprise contract vehicle.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a one-year base period of performance with four option years and a maximum value of $476 million.

"CACI's award of the Omnibus Network Enterprise contract reflects our proven record of performance in providing task order support and surge capabilities on large contracts," said CACI President of U.S. Operations Dan Allen. "Our enterprise IT solutions and world-class telecommunications and information services continue to deliver effectiveness and efficiency for multiple federal clients."

The Omnibus Network Enterprise award is the first such award it has received.

"As the government looks to industry to help meet its goals for efficiency and reduced cost, the ONE contract is an excellent opportunity for CACI to provide high-value solutions for the most critical and well-funded requirements," said Paul Cofoni, CACI president and chief executive officer. "This award demonstrates the success of our strategy to focus on solutions that enable federal agencies to achieve cost savings while sustaining mission readiness."
