Booz Allen starts cybernetwork

MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A network of cybersecurity centers and stations for U.S. government and industry has been established by Booz Allen Hamilton.

Called Booz Allen Cyber Solutions Network, the network connects clients with the company's cyber experts for analytics, computer network defense and cyber product testing.

"In today's world of sophisticated and complex cyber threats, it takes a network to protect a network," said Booz Allen Hamilton Executive Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer Joe Mahaffee. "The Booz Allen Cyber Solutions Network will provide deeper and broader cyber capabilities and services to our clients on their terms -- when they need it and where they need it."

Booz Allen said the network at present is comprised of nine centers but additional ones are planned, including centers overseas. Four centers are in Virginia, four in Maryland and one is in New Jersey.

Each has a specific focus. Advanced cyber, forensics, malware and software analytics, for example, is the focus of a center near Fort Meade, Md.

Booz Allen Cyber Solutions Network's Security Operations Center in northern Virginia includes 24-hour emergency response, mobile forensics and intelligence and network monitoring.
