LUFKIN, Texas, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A Texas facility of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control has again made IndustryWeek Magazine's list of top manufacturing operations.

"Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's Lufkin Operations demonstrate winning strategies for achieving operational excellence," said Jill Jusko, senior editor and IndustryWeek's Best Plants director. "Those strategies, combined with a continuous-improvement mindset, drive world-class manufacturing."

The magazine's Top Ten list takes into account operational excellence, efforts to enhance competitiveness and customer service and satisfaction. Company facilities in Florida, Arkansas made the list of top plants in 2007 and 2006.

The Lufkin operation of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control manufactures electronic equipment and subassemblies for various U.S. missile systems, including the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile.

"I am very proud of the Lockheed Martin Lufkin team and their commitment to excellence in support of our warfighters," said Keith Johnson, site director for Lockheed Martin's Lufkin Operations. "Maintaining the high level of quality and performance that our customers require is a demanding task but our employees have continually demonstrated their commitment to excellence time and time again through the products they produce on a daily basis."
