LINCOLN, England, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Greek army flight crews and technicians are to receive electronic warfare training from Selex Galileo in Britain.

Selex Galileo, part of Italy's Finmeccanica group, said a comprehensive six-month course would be given at its EW Operational Support center in Britain. Following that training, company personnel are to be deployed to the air base Megara, Greece, for six months of additional training.

"We are delighted to welcome the Greek army to our world class EWOS facility in Lincoln," said Ramie Smith, Selex Galileo's vice president, Electronic Warfare Operational Support. "Training is a critical element of the complete EWOS lifecycle and by delivering a comprehensive six-month program we can ensure the Greek army is able to fully release the true capability of their EW Systems.

"At Selex Galileo, we are wholeheartedly committed to transforming mission data into a mission advantage for our end users. With the Greek army we are working alongside a very demanding customer who understands the criticality of Selex Galileo's integrated EWOS solution."

Training will begin this month.

Greece in 2003 purchased Selex Galileo's Helicopter Integrated Defensive Aid Suite for its Apache helicopters and the training will allow them to program the systems to suit specific needs.
