SAN DIEGO, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Marine West, a premier exhibition of weapons and equipment for amphibious and expeditionary forces, is being held next month at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

The U.S. Marine Corps League and Marine Corps Systems Command, co-sponsors of the event, said in addition to weapons systems the event will showcase logistics support systems, communications systems and other items used in special operations.

"This year's edition of Marine West comes at a time when the U.S. Armed Forces are in the midst of reviewing their equipment needs after years of sustained combat operations in Southwest Asia and exceptionally high training and operational tempos around the world," the sponsors said. "The event allows end-users of combat equipment to look to the future and incorporate what they see and hear into their considerations in the critical equipment reset strategy now underway."

Registration for attendees will be conducted on-site at Camp Pendleton.

The event is scheduled for Feb. 1-2.
