ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Language translation and interpretation services from CACI International will be made available to the U.S. Army through an ID/IQ award.

Under the five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, given under the Defense Language Interpretation Translation Enterprise program, CACI will compete with five other awardees for work for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command.

In addition to translation and interpretation, CACI will also offer equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation and other items related to the service.

The total value of the contract for the six prime contractors is $9.7 billion.

"CACI has an outstanding record of program management on large contracts, and the DLITE award continues our longstanding support of the Department of Defense," said CACI President of U.S. Operations Dan Allen. "By providing language and communications services across the globe, our experienced linguists and interpreters will ensure that U.S. Army troops can accomplish their missions both effectively and safely."

The DLITE contract provides the U.S. Defense Department with assistance for more than 28 languages.
