SAIC to help enhance simulation training

MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Capabilities of a force simulation training program are to be enhanced by SAIC under a $55 million U.S. Army award.

Under the award from Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Acquisition Center, Science Applications International Corp. will help implement enhancements to OneSAF -- One Semi-Automated Forces -- a computer-generated forces simulation covering a wide range of operations and systems.

Specifically SAIC will conduct modeling, engineering, development and test services on new concepts for the system.

"We look forward to working with PEO STRI on the production of OneSAF to support force modernization and transformation from weapons systems to brigade through analysis, experimentation, and training," said John Gully, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

"This effort will ensure the consistent management of the configuration baseline, controlled integration of externally developed code, consistency and accuracy of released versions and timely maintenance and response to user needs."

The task order features a one-year base performance period and four one-year options.
