ROME, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Italy's Finmeccanica and U.S. company Northrop Grumman have joined to help NATO boost its ability to quickly detect and respond to cybersecurity threats.
The companies announced an agreement to try to win work on the NATO Computer Incident Response Capability -- Full Operating Capability. NATO recently issued a request for proposal for the program to give information assurance to about 50 NATO sites and other installations in 28 countries.
"This is a strong partnership which combines the capabilities, resources and expertise of both organizations spanning the U.K., U.S. and Italy and resulting in a superior proposal which best meets the requirements of this key NATO program," said Alberto de Benedictis, chief executive of Finmeccanica UK and responsible for Finmeccanica Cyber Solutions.
