Under the $47 million contract, General Dynamics will provide spare parts, assemblies, engineering support and other logistics needed to keep the stations fully operational.

General Dynamics won the original contract for the ground stations in 1996 and later received a logistics and maintenance contract for them.

"This award reflects the continuing confidence our customer has in the system and the relevant capabilities it provides in support of vital Army and joint missions around the world," Mark Showah, director of Integrated Systems for General Dynamics C4 Systems said.

Work in support of the contract will be performed by General Dynamics in Scottsdale, Ariz.
