SSI schedules homeland security meeting

MIAMI, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Counter-terror training firm Security Solutions International says its annual conference for homeland security professionals will be next November in Florida.

The conference, which had previously been in Las Vegas, will feature 20-30 technology providers, who will display products, as well as experts in homeland security who will address the conference.

"Speakers from all over the world, with global reputations, are coming in to deliver a message of close coordination between the public, the public sector and private industry to combat increasing threats from terrorists to sovereign citizen's movements or gangs and Mexican drug cartels," the company said.

"In typical SSI style, the conference will contain only hands-on professionals and not academic speakers that can provide the private security professionals, police and first responders the information they need."

The three-day conference will start Nov. 5 and only about 250 homeland security professionals will be allowed to attend.

SSI publishes The Counter Terrorist Magazine -- the conference host.

SSI said a well-known Florida agency will endorse the program for sheriffs and police departments nationwide.
