Ramora UK offers ordnance disposal team

PORTSMOUTH, England, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- A British company is offering maritime unexploded ordnance disposal services.

Ramora UK says its team of divers is comprised of former British navy ordnance clearance personnel who can deploy as a stand-alone, fully self-contained unit from a range of vessels.

The divers will undertake UXO search and disposal operations to a maximum depth of 165 feet or operations at greater depths and will use its proven remote-controlled REODS system.

Outside of the armed forces, Ramora UK will be the first and only organization in Britain providing this level of reactive UXO service.

The company said it anticipates that demand for the service will come from a number of quarters, including the offshore oil and gas industry and, increasingly, from the offshore renewable energy sector.

"We are confident that our new UXO Clearance Diving service, a unique offering in the commercial world, will give us a truly distinctive edge and confirm our world-class expertise in the UXO field," said Ramora UK Managing Director David Welch.

Ramora UK is the trading name for Ramora Global Limited and a leading global provider of explosive ordnance disposal services and training.
