JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- A support center for Lockheed Martin's mission and technology services to U.S. government agencies has been opened in Mississippi.
The 33,000-square-foot facility is in Clinton, Miss., and will bring up to 350 jobs to Mississippi's Capital Region.
"Lockheed Martin is pleased to expand our presence in Mississippi and we value the opportunity to contribute to the economic development of Central Mississippi," said Linda Gooden, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Information Systems ad Global Solutions.
"We truly appreciate the successful collaboration we have experienced working with federal, state and local officials to ensure we have the professional work force and facility resources needed to open this world-class mission support operation here."
The facility provides mission and technology services for various U.S. government programs and establishes Lockheed Martin's Gulf Coast Technology Hub, which works with existing East and West Coast Technology Hubs to offer innovative cloud computing, cybersecurity, efficient big data management and mobile computing solutions to federal customers.
"As the leading IT provider to the federal government, we take our customers and their missions very seriously," said John Mengucci, president of Lockheed Martin IS&GS-Civil. "This state-of-the-art facility enables us to deliver enhanced technology services and best value to our customers on the important work we do on their behalf."
