Sept. 23, 2011 at 6:56 AM

LONDON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Britain's business information provider Visiongain predicts that the electronic warfare market will reach $8.89 billion this year.

"Electronic warfare products and systems are increasingly commonplace throughout the spectrum of military hardware," it said in a report, "The Electronic Warfare Market 2011-2021."

"Although budgetary concerns among leading Western nations will persist for the medium-term, the EW market is set for a period of growth as armed forces look to maintain their dominance over the electromagnetic environment."

The report contains 142 tables, charts and figures that quantify and forecast the electronic warfare market.

Visiongain provides forecasts for the period 2011-21 in terms of value for the electronic warfare market as well as for three sub-markets that form the overall market figure. In addition, the report quantifies, analyses and forecasts 15 leading national electronic warfare markets from 2011-21.

The report also features profiles of 30 leading companies operating within the market.
