MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory's Chemical Division will receive engineering and physical life sciences research and development services from SAIC.
The single-award contract to Virginia's Science Applications International Corp. has a one-year base performance period and four one-year options.
The value is $19 million if all options are exercised.
NRL operates as the Navy's full-spectrum corporate laboratory, conducting a broadly based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced technological development.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide engineering and physical life sciences research and development services, as required, including analysis and sensing; carbon cycling in aquatic, marine and terrestrial ecosystems; materials; and development, analysis, and modeling of unexploded ordnance sensors.
