HAWTHORNE, Calif., July 11 (UPI) -- An unidentified Middle Eastern country is beefing up its cargo and vehicle inspection capabilities with equipment from U.S. company Rapiscan Systems.

OSI Systems inc., parent company of Rapiscan, said the customer ordered multiple units of the company's Eagle T-10 inspection solution.

The Eagle T-10 is a towable, ruggedized and highly mobile cargo and vehicle inspection system that is designed for rapid deployment. It features Rapiscan's proprietary 1 MeV X-ray scanner which can detect potential threats in even densely packed cargo.

"We are proud of this award from our customer in the Middle East," said OSI Systems Chief Executive Officer Deepak Chopra. "The Eagle T-10 … is another example of how our security products play a key role in helping protect critical infrastructure, industrial complexes, and commerce centers in a region that is critical to the global economy."

OSI System's line of Eagle cargo and vehicle inspection systems are used by customs agencies, military organizations and homeland security worldwide. They provide outstanding image quality and threat detection, while maximizing the operational effectiveness of customers, the company said.

The monetary value of the order wasn't revealed.
