Defense, aerospace meeting scheduled

SEATTLE, June 23 (UPI) -- Manufacturers and suppliers from global aerospace and defense industries will meet in Seattle next year to create business opportunities and share information.

The Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit, hosted by BCI Aerospace and supported by Boeing and the Washington State Department of Commerce, is scheduled for March 12-15 at the Seattle Convention Center.

Four Boeing business units -- Commercial Airplanes; Defense, Space and Security; Engineering, Operations and Technology; and Shared Services Group -- will participate in the event.

"The aerospace industry is facing unprecedented demand and opportunity in the coming years," said Stan Deal, vice president and general manager of Supplier Management for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "The Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for suppliers to engage with major suppliers of the Boeing Co. and make connections that can expand their business and technology reach."

A total of 600 businesses and 1,200 individuals are expected to participate, exchanging ideas and exploring potential business opportunities.
