MCLEAN, Va., June 15 (UPI) -- SAIC of Virginia has been given a delivery order from the U.S. Air Force to support key Air Force national security initiatives.

The information technology work will be performed for the service's Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans and Requirements, Strategic Plans and Policy Division.

The division is the focal point for ensuring compliance with arms control treaties and agreements, including the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and the Chemical Weapons Convention, which prohibits the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons. It is also the integrator for Air Force counter-chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons policy.

"We are pleased to expand our support of Air Force strategic plans and policy initiatives," said Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We will continue to build on the long-standing support we have provided the Air Force."

The order has a five-year period of performance and carries a total value of $89 million.
