
MCLEAN, Va., April 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Forces Command has added Alion Science and Technology to its list of OPTARS II awardees in a task order contract worth as much a $2.5 billion.
The Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services provides a streamlined process for Army and U.S. Department of Defense organizations to acquire critical services, including operational support, training and exercising, transformation and force protection.
"From modeling and simulation to training, operational planning to transformation, the Alion team has the depth of experience and relevant skills to help the Army achieve measurable results," said David Ohle, Alion's senior vice president and manager of the Defense Operations and Integration Sector. Ohle is a retired Army general.
With OPTARSS II, the goal is to ultimately improve warfighter readiness by providing an effective method to quickly acquire the solutions they need."
The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multiple award task order contract runs for one base year, with four one-year option periods and allow customers to place orders in a number of task areas.
The contract was created to provide operational and training support to FORSCOM in the continental United States and outside the continental United States and for mobilization and deployment planning.
