CHANTILLY, Va., April 19 (UPI) -- Advisory and assistance services on CBRNE and non-proliferation technologies will be provided to the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency by TASC Inc.
TASC, which has headquarters in Virginia, said the services will be for DTRA's Research and Development Enterprise under a $600 million, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award.
"It is imperative that we continue our nation's investment in new technologies that can counter the threat and control the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction," says Pamela Drew, senior vice president of Enterprise Systems at TASC. "We are proud that DTRA has selected TASC to support this vitally important mission."
Under the five-year award, TASC will support research, design, integration, test and evaluation of counter WMD and non-proliferation technologies for the full spectrum of CBRNE -- chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosive -- weapons.
In addition, TASC will help make the capabilities available to DTRA customers, including warfighters, state and local governments and homeland security agencies.
To meet the program objectives, TASC has assembled an expert team from 15 companies, it said.
Work under the contract will be performed primarily at Fort Belvoir, Va.; Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M.; and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
