WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Missile Defense Agency is awarding advisory and assistance services contracts, each with a $281.7 million ceiling, to four U.S. companies.

The companies are Booz Allen Hamilton of Virginia, MacAulay-Brown Inc. of Ohio; Virginia's Science Applications International Corp.; and TASC of Massachusetts.

MDA said that each will assist the agency's acquisition directorate in providing advisory analytical support for subject matter expertise throughout the agency for engineering, test, finance, acquisition, readiness and strategic activities in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity awards, each company will compete for task orders.

The contracts are being competitively awarded under a full and open, unrestricted, Request for Proposal, MDA said in a statement released by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Work under the contracts will be performed in seven states.

The performance period is through February 2016.
