BETHESDA, Md., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department's Office of Naval Research has contracted Maryland's Digital Management Inc. for enterprise resource planning and support services.

The contract to improve ONR's efficiency is for five years. Its monetary value wasn't disclosed.

The ONR was established by Congress to support the president's budget, command and manage all Science and Technology for the Department of the Navy and provide technical advice to the Chief of Naval Operations and the Secretary of the Navy.

Under the contract to ONR's Command Business Office, Digital Management will provide an objective assessment of ONR's business operations, programs, functions, and processes and will support the CBO through strategic planning, general management and business consulting services. Work will include program management and administration support services.

"We are very pleased that our reputation as a trusted partner has given rise to this opportunity to deepen our relationship with the U.S. Navy," said Jay Sunny Bajaj, Digital Management's president and chief executive officer. "Our strength as a company stems from our ability to contribute as a strategic partner, leveraging technology to help our clients achieve mission success.

"ONR can rely on us to deliver the objective, expert input they need to effectively transform their operations."
