YONKERS, N.Y., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Boeing has given a New York company, which stocks obsolete and hard-to-find parts for military equipment, an award for supplier excellence.
Crestwood Technology Group said it maintained a "silver" composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period -- from Oct. 1, 2009, to Sept. 30, 2010 -- and was one of 417 suppliers to receive the recognition from Boeing.
"CTG is truly humbled to have received the Boeing Performance Excellence Award for the third year in a row," said Denise Gilchrist, CTG's president and founder. "It clearly demonstrates our commitment to Boeing's programs and CTG's mandate to provide all our clients unparalleled counterfeit avoidance, quality assurance and customer service."
CTG specializes in finding, procuring and stocking all the parts that military, defense and aerospace companies need to maintain their fleets.
Among them: electronic components, electro-mechanical parts, cable assemblies, capacitors, connectors, diodes, fasteners, hardware, integrated circuits, relays, resistors, semiconductors, transistors, screws, helical coil inserts, rails, rail assemblies, splice block modules and contact sockets.
Boeing aircraft and defense programs and system that benefit from CTG efforts include Passive Obstacle Detection Systems, Harpoon, JDAM, SLAM-ER, Heritage, B-2 Bomber, F18, F-15, A-160, KC-10 and the KC-135.
Other systems include Minuteman III and Peacekeeper Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.
