STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Sweden's Scania Group has signed agreements to supply vehicles to the armies of Luxembourg and Sweden.
Under a deal with NATO's Maintenance and Supply Agency 31, four-axle all-wheel-drive Scania G 480 8x8 trucks will be sent to Luxembourg.
The deal involves the first delivery of a new upgraded ballistic protection system, STANAG level 3 on 13 of the vehicles, which will mainly be used on peacekeeping missions.
Deliveries will take place during 2011, the company said.
Under an order from the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration, Scania will supply the Swedish army with 80, three-axle Scania G 400 6x2 logistics vehicles with hooklift bodywork. Four vehicles to be used for driver training are specified with four individual seats in the cab.
The Swedish agency also ordered eight, four-axle Scania P 400 8x2 with crane and platform bodywork.
The company said the vehicles for the Swedish military will be fitted with the Scania Communicator 200 on-board data collector for remote follow-up of vehicle and driver performance via a Web portal.
Deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.
