ASHBURN, Va., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Telos Corp. of Virginia is installing second-generation wireless local network solutions at 88 U.S. Air National Guard sites, it reported Monday.

The installation is the final stage of a three-stage Air National Guard project.

Telos said it has designed, implemented, tested and performed certification and accreditation on 2GWLAN-complaint systems for the Air National Guard and is implementing the U.S. Air Force Combat Information Transport System 2GWLAN Expansion project as add-on capabilities to the core network, expanding wireless capabilities at 30 bases worldwide.

"With this contract, Telos will leverage this experience to provide the ANG with a successful implementation based on proven processes and technical expertise," said Ronnie Clark, program manager for Telos' Secure Networks division. "Telos will deliver a robust wireless capability based on more than a decade of expertise working in these exact environments."

Telos is the prime contractor on the 5-year, $9 billion Network Centric Solutions Contract vehicle that provides the Air Force, the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies with a single vehicle through which to buy network-centric information technologies, networking equipment and services, as well as voice, video and data communications hardware and software and telephony solutions from preferred contractors.
