ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 28 (UPI) -- Harris Corp. will supply tactical communication systems and Falcon II and Falcon III radios under a contract to an unidentified country in the Middle East.
The company said that under the $8 million award, it will develop the system design and architecture -- as well as implement the first phase of an important Command, Control and Communications system -- for the nation's armed forces.
The C3 system will provide users with integrated tactical voice and data communications.
Falcon III RF-7800S Secure Personal Radios, Falcon III RF-7800W High-Capacity Line-of-Sight Radios and the RF-5800M multi-band hand-held radios are part of the deal, Harris said.
"Harris tactical radios provide customers with the full range of communications capabilities and are in use around the world," said Andy Start, president, international business, Harris RF Communications. "This extensive portfolio of software-defined radios provides built-in interoperability and information security, offering a platform for expandability and systems integration."
Additional contract details weren't disclosed by Harris.
