STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 17 (UPI) -- The new head of Sweden's aerospace and defense solutions company Saab will officially take over the chief executive officer appointment beginning in September.
Saab, developer of the Gripen fighter aircraft among other mission critical defense vehicles, announced in April the selection of Hakan Buskhe as its new head executive to replace the company's current President and Chief Executive Officer Ake Svensson.
Saab had not officially set a transition date for Buskhe, saying in its initial release that Buskhe would take over for Svensson by November. Saab said that Svensson will step down on the first of September to become the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries president.
With Svensson leaving, Buskhe will now officially begin his role as chief executive officer at Saab at the beginning of September.
Buskhe most recently was the head of power and gas company E.ON's operations in northern Europe.
