FAIRFAX, Va., March 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy selected General Dynamics Information Technology to provide fleet unit-readiness assessments, planning and training support.
U.S. defense company General Dynamics received the award as part of the Navy's SeaPort-enhanced contract vehicle to support the Navy Air and Missile Defense Command at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren in Virginia.
Under the $21.8 million task order, General Dynamics will provide the NAMDC with engineering, training, planning and ongoing fleet unit-readiness assessments among other subject-matter support requirements.
"This award reflects an outstanding partnership of government and industry to help the new U.S. Navy Air and Missile Defense Command define and execute Navy air and missile defense activity," Bill Cobb, General Dynamics Information Technology Combat Systems vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
