APOPKA, Fla., March 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army selected Northrop Grumman to deliver laser-based enemy position targeting technology to support ongoing operational requirements.
U.S. defense company Northrop Grumman received an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to deliver its widely deployed Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinders units.
Under the $142.7 million IDIQ, Northrop Grumman will deliver more than 500 of its LLDR systems designed to provide soldiers with the ability to accurately target enemy positions even with difficult light conditions.
"The LLDR system has proven itself to be of tremendous benefit to our nation's warfighters," Gordon Stewart, Northrop Grumman Laser Systems vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
"At Northrop Grumman, we recognize and appreciate the need to consistently deliver high quality solutions to our customers that meet their specified mission requirements, while remaining on cost and on schedule."
