WASHINGTON, March 18 (UPI) -- U.S. defense contractor Raytheon announced the launch of a new line of products for the missile defense market in a move to meet emerging defense requirements.
Raytheon says its Missile Systems unit Wednesday announced its new Air and Missile Defense Systems product line. Company officials say the new product line is part of an effort to support the evolving requirements of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.
The Air and Missile Defense Systems product line will include Raytheon's Standard Missile-3 and Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle along with its Network Centric Airborne Defense Element program.
"Missile defense is a major component of the company's portfolio," Taylor Lawrence, Raytheon Missile Systems president, said in a statement.
"With a broad array of products and solutions, Raytheon is ideally positioned to meet present and emerging missile defense requirements."
