PASADENA, Calif., March 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force contracted Jacobs Engineering Group to provide research and development for a program designed to support future operational requirements.
U.S. company Jacobs was selected for the contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory's Airbase Technologies Division. Under the $9.9 million deal, Jacobs will provide support for a research-and-development program.
Jacobs says the contract is part of an effort to support an initiative to design and test improvements for protections against conventional and improvised explosive threats.
"This contract provides an excellent opportunity to build upon our longstanding relationship with the Air Force Research Laboratory," Craig Martin, Jacobs president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Our services will help Air Force investment and acquisition decision makers choose the right technologies to meet current and future operational requirements for force protection and airbase infrastructure operations."
